Self-care, creating a life you don't want to escape from

I mean, who doesn't love an escape?!

But self-care is all about creating a life you don't NEED to escape from. It can be hard to create moments of rest in the hustle and bustle of life, so start building up the daily practice of slowing down, and creating moments of care for yourself.

It can be hard to prioritise things that bring you joy and preserve your sanity so here are some ideas you can try today! 

  1. Take 10 deep breaths

  2. Drink a glass of water

  3. Stretch your arms and legs

  4. Write down three things you're grateful for

  5. Spend a few minutes in silence or meditation

  6. Apply hand lotion

  7. Brush your teeth

  8. Text a friend or loved one to check-in

  9. Stand up, make like Taylor Swift and shake it off

  10. Listen to your favourite song

  11. Do a brain teaser or puzzle

  12. Step outside for some fresh air

  13. Apply lip balm or chapstick

  14. Write down a goal you want to achieve today

  15. Do a quick body scan to release tension

  16. Watch a funny video

  17. Recite a positive affirmation

  18. Take a moment to appreciate something beautiful around you

  19. Sip a cup of herbal tea
